Maybe there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel....
So today was our doctor appointment, and guess what??? NOTHING! That's right. Absolutely no change from our last appointment. I'm not going to lie, I was really really disapointed. I was hoping that we would have been far enough along that we could be induced. My doctor said we could be induced now if we wanted, he would do it, but there would be a higher chance that we would end up having a c-section (which I do not want). The problem is that the medicine they give you to induce you just helps the thinning of your cervix (sorry for those of you who don't care to read about this...) and not the dialation. I need to dialate more because I'm only at 1 cm, but I am 80 % effaced.... so there would be a good chance that the induction medicine wouldn't do much except give me some contractions, but not help much with the dialation and I would have to have a c-section. So, my doctors advice was to wait it out 1 more week and see if she comes on her own. I trust that my doctor knows what he's talking about, I mean he has been doing this for a while. So unless our little bundle of joy decides to come this week, we will be induced on September 7th. I was fairly upset after our appointment because I felt like things are just not working out like they are supposed to, but when we got home I took a nice long nap and when I woke up I felt so much better. I feel better because now as I see it, there is an end. We will have a baby by next week, unless she gets here sooner. Yes I would love it if she decides to come here before the 7th, but if she doesn't thats okay because I know that by next week I will finally get to hold her! I just want a healthy happy baby! So wish us luck, and wishing she might come before the 7th won't hurt either *wink*

What are the chances?
Well today is August 29, 2010..... my estimated delivery date! I can't believe it is here already. Although, I thought for sure that I would definetly have my baby before now, but I guess that shows you how WRONG I was. I still do not feel like she is any closer to coming. I've had no major contractions this past week, just indigestion and heartburn! I keep hoping that might be a sign labor is close, but then nothing happens, just misery. I've finally accepted the fact that she isn't coming out until she wants to. Oh and all those wife tales about what to do to naturally induce labor..... yeah they don't work. I've tried them all. You can not expect that you can have your baby when YOU want because they will come out when they are good and ready. I suppose our little gal is just not ready to meet everyone yet. I'll let her take her time, even though it is frustrating the heck out of me, maybe all this frustration is just the precursor to what parenthood is actually going to be like. Hahaha
I do think that maybe I hit a little bit of a "nesting" phase on Friday. It all started with a book shelf. I told Brad that maybe we should buy this book shelf so we could put all of our movies in one place. We got home and relized that once we put together the book shelf, it would not fit in our front room. We thought about it for a while and decided that we had to get rid of our recliners. Once we got them out of the way, we realized that we still did not have the room so we moved all the furniture around. It actually looks lots better than before, but its funny how it all started with something as simple as a book shelf. I think all the "moving" that I did not do wore me out because all I wanted to do yesterday is sleep.
I know I keep saying this, but hopefully the next time I post on here I'll officially be a mom!

Tick Tock...
So it's been a little over a week since my last post. We went to the doctors again on Tuesday and guess what..... NO CHANGE!!!! So the doctor can't induce me until I've dialated to at least 2 cm or I'm a week past my due date. If I haven't gone into labor by Monday, he wants us to go back in and he'll check us again. If' I've dialated to 2 cm then he will induce me on Tuesday, if I'm still the same then I have to wait a week before the hospital will let him induce me. I've been kind of bummed out because I thought for sure I'd have a baby by now and I'm not very good at being patient. Today to get my mind of things Brad and I went out and took some maternity pictures. Here they are. Hopefully the next time I post I'll be posting pictures of our new bundle of joy!!!

Are we DONE yet?
I know its been a while since my last update. As of today, we technically have 9 more days until our "due" date.... I honestly do not think we will make it that long! Tuesday at our doctor appointment, Dr. Gourley checked me and I was dialated to 1 cm and 80% effaced. Not exactly excited that I was only 1 cm! I've been having on and off contractions since then, and I thought yesterday might have been the big day.... I started having small contractions around 3 a.m. in the morning but they were really inconsistant. This lasted for a few hours. I finally laid back down on the couch and fell asleep. Then around noon I started having more painful contractions, they seemed to be pretty regular but I wasn't timing them, so I decided to start watching the clock and they were 10-15 minutes appart, and then they started going backwards and getting further appart. I laid down a couple hours later and fell asleep. So I decided that apparently I wasn't going in to true labor because I could fall asleep both times. Although, I won't lie... I was kind of disappointed that it wasn't "real" labor. It's hard because I have I no idea what its going to be like or what to expect when it actually does happen. It doesn't matter what people tell me because I just keep wondering if the pain or discomfort I'm feeling is the same thing or not. All I know right now is I am so READY for our little girl to get here. I am nervous now because Brad is back to work today and so that means I'll have to meet him if I do decide its time to go to the hospital. But even as nervous as I am, I still wish that I could be holding her right now. I did get some exciting news yesterday, my sister Ashley is going to be induced today, so I will have a new little nephew sometime soon!!! I keep thinking that it would be fun if our babys delivered on the same day, but I'm feeling pretty good right now, so probably wont happen. DARN! Anyways, I'm not sure when my next post will be, but until then keep your fingers cross that I'll deliver soon!!!!!!

And the Countdown begins......
20 days from today is our due date! I can't believe how fast the past nine months have gone. I still feel like I have a million things to do before our little gal decides to make her first appearance. I'm still feeling kind of sick, but I talked with the nurse at my doctors office today and she told me it would be okay to take some Tylenol Cold. So along with that I'm still drinking lots of water and herbal tea and trying to get lots of rest. I want to make sure that I have plenty of energy for the big day! I've almost got my bag completely packed too. I have at least my necessities packed so we would be okay to leave right now if we had to. Yesterday, I got the bassinet all set up in our bedroom. It is the same one that my sisters and I slept in when we were babies! Even though its over 30 years old, you can't tell with the cover over it. It is really cute.
Anyways, I'm going to go back to organizing and cleaning up the nursery (must be nesting -lol-)

Cold or Contractions?
Cold or Contractions? I would rather not have to deal with either right now.... but at least those Braxton Hicks are far and few between, I have to deal with the misery of this cold all the time. Seriously it sucks! Why is it that 3 weeks away from having this baby I have to catch a cold, especially because there is nothing I can take for it! A couple of my friends mentioned taking Robitussin but being 37 weeks pregnant I'm hesitant to take anything right now. I'm running just a few hours a sleep because I kept waking up last night (in between the trips to the potty) to get up and hack up my lungs... sorry I know that sounds a little graphic but I don't know how else to explain it. I'm so tired but I can't sleep because I can't breathe! Troylynn's reception is tonight and it will literally take a miracle to get me out of this bed, but I'm going to try my hardest... that is if Brad lets me -lol- Anyways, I'm going to attempt to rest today even though I can already think of a million things I need to get done. Hopefully I get better before the "real" contactions set in......

I'm happy!
It seems that lately I've been kind of crabby, but today I decided to be happy for everything I have and to have a better outlook on things. So I thought I'd write 10 things that I'm happy for today, here we go...
- I'm happy that I was able to sleep in today.
- I'm happy that I don't have to go back to work.
- I'm happy for my sweet family.
- I'm happy for my even sweeter husband!
- I'm happy that my sister Dani is letting us borrow her really nice car to take to the doctors on Tuesday, and for her giving us her old table (which looks super nice in my dining room).
- I'm happy that Megan got a new job that she is perfect for.
- I'm happy for my dogs that cheer me up all the time and are never judging :)
- I'm happy for the oportunity I had on Saturday to go to the temple with Brad's sister, especially because I needed it.
- I'm happy for the rain, rain and even more rain that we have recieved in the past couple days
- I'm happy that in just a few short weeks I'm going to be a mom!
